I have a problem with the implication of the word “assigened [sic]”, but otherwise, this. 

What does the word imply to you?

To me, it implies that my gender was forced upon me, and that there was a sense of compliance or submission on my part. That I conformed to the gender role impressed upon me by society, rather than freely embracing it, which I believe I did. It just seems like a negative word to me in the context of such a mutable thing as gender. 

In other words, I feel as though it’s suggesting that I, as a cis-male, “caved” by identifying as “boy.” This is merely my opinion, though. I could be taking it in the wrong way.
